DELL, the award-winning computer company has made another breakthrough in the Enterprise World of Computers.
Introducing the DELL Poweredge 1750 Rack Mount Platform featuring Intel Corporation's Xeon Processor running at a frequency 3.06 Gigahertz and Powered by a 320 Watt Power Supply, this Enterprise Computer is something to reckon with.
With Blade Configuration in mind, DELL has made this Server quite powerful when only itself runs Bank Transactions and etc.
The Poweredge 1750 has 4 *FOUR* Memory Banks which can hold up to 2 *TWO* Gigabytes each reaching a maximum of 8 * EIGHT * Gigabytes of Memory. The Memory of the 1750 is a DDR 266/ PC 2100 ECC *ERROR Correction Check* running at 266 Megahertz.
The 1750 can support up to THREE *3* SCSI Ultra 320 Hard Drives with a form factor of 1 - INCH each.
The 1750 is a SCSI Based System which is powered by an ADAPTEC Ultra 320 Controller running at 320 Megabits with support up to 15,000 RPM SCSI Drives with capacities of 550 GB, 300 GB, 146 GB, 73.2 GB, and 36 GB.
With Two Xeon Processors running at a minimum configuration of 2.0 Gigahertz and a maximum of 3.6 Gigahertz each processor, this beast can outwit any Quad Core System anytime.
The Following I/O *Input/Output* Ports can be found at the rear side of the Poweredge 1750:
Two Ethernet Ports - - > Gigabit LAN 10/100/1000
One NIC Gigabit Controller - - > For RAC Configuration
An External 68-PIN SCSI Port - - > For External SCSI Drives
Ps/2 Ports - - > For the Keyboard and Mouse
One *1* USB 2.0 Port - - > For USB Devices
One VGA Port - - > Powered by an ATI RAGE XL PCI with 8MB Of RAM
One Serial Port - - > For Other Devices
The Cyclops Port - - > For Cable Management Arm System Status Connector * For Blade Configuration and For Monitoring the System*
While the Following can be found at the Front:
One VGA Port - - > Same as the one at the Rear
One USB 2.0 Port - - > Same as the one at the Rear.
There are two options for PCI Expansion for the Poweredge 1750, one is a RISER Card with TWO *2* PCI - X Slots running at 64-Bit with a frequency of 133MHz or One *1* PCI - X Slot and One *1* PCI Slot running at 32-Bit with a frequency of 33Mhz.
The Poweredge 1750, though a powerful machine, has one setback, though it is not really a setback if you're going to use it in a RACK Configuration. It is rather long.
The 1750 has a a Width of 44.7 Cm ( 17.6 in Inches ) and a Depth of 68.3 Cm (26.9 in Inches).
For Business Companies, like DELL itself and Banks, the size of such a fearsome Server is common and does not give any problems.
Also, with 2 Years Limited Warranty when you purchase any Server from DELL, you won't have any trouble at all even while troubleshooting it.
